The new factory, which was conceived before the pandemic, will be fully automated with 4.0 tools being used to optimise results.

The company's seventh factory, which will be located in the Sud Champagne region of northern France, is progressing according to schedule and one of the warehouses is now almost complete.

It will be our second factory in France, in addition to our existing centre in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, with both located in areas close to where the sustainable raw materials we use in Garnica are obtained. The Seine and Aube river basin, where the new factory is located, is considered the richest poplar area in Europe.

It is estimated that in the future this factory will operate as a “smart factory” model. The entire production process will be fully automated with 4.0 tools being used to optimise results.

Production at the new factory will start in 2022 and recruitment is already underway for the maintenance, forestry, human resources, administration and management departments. The strategic location of the factory will ensure access to sustainably sourced raw materials, mitigating the carbon footprint and environmental impact of the operation.

The factory was conceived in 2019 but work had to be delayed due to the pandemic. This delay was used as an opportunity to implement a unique environmental “éco-pâturage” grazing project on pieces of land in Troyes that were not going to be occupied immediately. This initiative helps clean and maintain green or hard-to-access places with the help of animals.
