This project is part of the Garnica Health programme, involving various activities designed to promote healthcare and the environment

This year’s Garnica Health programme has seen us perform a variety of activities to continue promoting healthy lifestyle habits that help protect the health and safety of our workers. The main theme for 2022 focused on the “Environment Special” campaign, with two different actions completed in June and October.

June was all about the environment at Garnica

It all began on 5 June, for World Environment Day, and continued throughout the month, as we learnt how the small steps we take can reduce our environmental footprint, alongside promoting healthier, more sustainable lifestyle habits.

Specifically, we learnt how small changes at home – like changing our shopping habits or improving our diet – can have a big impact on climate change and our health. By incorporating responsible shopping and consumption habits, we can also reduce the amount of plastic that ends up in landfills and in our oceans.

Outdoor activities for October

In October, we conducted a series of fun outdoor activities, encouraging several workers to come along with their families to learn more about our environment and how to preserve it.

Activities like bird-ringing taught us to identify the small birds in our local area; guided walks helped us learn all about animal tracking; and trails focused on the sounds of nature enabled us to enjoy our surroundings in a unique way.

At Garnica, we support looking after and learning about nature and the wildlife we have around us. This is why we want to continue raising awareness of how to look after our planet, both among our employees and the general public. Mother Earth can live without us, but we can’t live without her.
