The Cabinet Manufacturing Process

Read the featured article forward

Cabinets are a crucial part of any kitchen construction project and there are a few steps that need to be taken to ensure you are making the best choice for your project. In this article, we’ll explore the process of creating the ideal cabinets.

If you’re reading this, you’re dedicated to creating high-quality kitchen cabinets that will leave your client speechless. The process might seem daunting, but if you follow the steps we’ve outlined below, it will be quite simple.

Client Meeting Stage

Before you even begin to look at possible materials or ideas, you must sit down with your client and determine their goals, expectations, and ideas. Try to get answers to the following questions:

  • What are their absolutely necessary demands? Are they willing to compromise on anything?
  • What is their budget?
  • What are things that are not necessary, but preferred?
  • Do they have a preference for any specific colors, materials, or finishes?
  • What is their vision?
  • Do they have specific size requirements?

Another important aspect to discuss with your clients is where the plywood materials come from. Your client may not be aware of the many issues that plague the plywood and forest industry, but you are. Try to share the importance of choosing sustainable materials and the benefits that can come from such a selection.

Planning Stage

Now that you have a clear understanding of the client’s priorities, you can get started creating their dream kitchen cabinets. It’s your time to shine. With almost limitless options, you are facing a lot of choices. Here’s a helpful breakdown of the two most important aspects to help you get started:

  • Size: You have the size requirements from your client, but have you considered how to innovate and create truly unmatched products? One of the best qualities of plywood is its availability in XL sizes, meaning that with just one panel we can make the most of the plywood panel.
  • Characteristics: You discussed needs with your clients; was there anything that stood out to you? Is there a specific need for plywood that’s resistant to flames, impact and scratching, or the elements? If, for example, you’re creating cabinets for an outdoor area, you must ensure that the qualities of your plywood can withstand the elements, pests, or any other aspects that might weaken the final creation.

Installation Stage

You’re ready to take action and get started. When choosing the materials for your cabinets, make sure you’re choosing the best possible products. At Garnica, our manufacturing process has been cultivated to ensure the absolute highest quality at all times, while respecting the environment. In addition, we have a wide range of sizes available, allowing you to make the most out of each and every panel and many options for finishes (prime, UV, laminated, and more). Take a look at our manufacturing process below which outlines the care we place in ensuring that every plywood panel is of the highest possible quality.

  1. Cutting and Transfer: the sustainably grown, classified tree is cut down and cleaned and transferred to one of our six factories.
  2. Stripping and Unrolling: the bark is stripped from the logs and transformed into a large veneer blanket that is classified on site.
  3. Drying: the veneers are dried and passed through control systems to ensure the moisture content and wood quality.
  4. Forming and Pressing: this is the moment! Plywood panels are made up of an odd number of veneers glued together in opposite direction, crossing the fiber between one veneer and the other: Here’s Garnica’s secret to success:
    • Garnica’s plywood is made up of a large number of thin, single-piece veneers.
    • In addition, we use wood from incredibly high-quality plantations.

This gives us a panel of exceptional strength, uniformity, and quality.

  1. Sizing and Sanding: the panel is sized and sanded to create the exact dimensions you need, all while maintaining perfect uniformity and surface quality.
  2. Finishes: different treatments can be added to improve insulation, beauty, coloring, or resistance to fire or humidity.
  3. Packaging: lastly, your finished panels are shipped to you and are ready to be installed!

Thanks to the combination of our carefully curated plywood from European plantations and detailed manufacturing process, you’ll be able to present your clients with the best possible materials for their project.
