Garnica attended the Spanish Forestry Congress (CFE), the most important event organized by the Spanish Society of Forestry Sciences (SECF), which is held every four years and is the principal forum for dialogue among Spanish forestry professionals.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the edition planned for 2021 had to be postponed until 2022, so the sector was eager to meet up once again. Garnica had an extensive presence at this latest edition, which took place from June 27 to July 1 in Lleida, since, in addition to sponsoring the event, the congress stands were made with Garnica panels.
The congress was marked by various activities. Some of the highlights were the technical trips touring over 3,100 km all around Catalonia and the more than 550 scientific papers completed by forestry research professionals and technical personnel in 17 autonomous communities (and representing 19 countries) in the last five years.
Likewise, the SECF took advantage of the occasion to hold its general assembly in which researcher Mercedes Guijarro took over as president from Felipe Bravo, professor and researcher from the University of Valladolid, among other research centers.
In addition to sponsoring the event, Garnica also had a stand during the various seminars that attendees could visit to discover the company’s products and commitment to sustainability, in particular their commitment to using material that is beneficial for the environment like the wood from poplar plantations.
