Garnica again supports the fight against cancer at the 8th Women’s Race
Read the featured articleHeld on 23 April in Logroño, this year’s race brought 11,000 women together, including many of Garnica’s female workers.
This year once again, Garnica participated in the 8th Women’s Race held in Logroño in aid of breast cancer research, in collaboration with several companies from the region. The race, which was organised by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) and sponsored by the Government of La Rioja and Logroño City Council, saw 11,000 women participate.
Garnica is very proud to have beaten our participation record this year with a total of 85 registered female workers, with the entire registration fee donated to pay for the costs of cancer research, a contribution that gives La Rioja AECC the Spanish Association Against Cancer) the opportunity to fund scholarships and research projects. The AECC also wishes to thank all the participants for their effort and enthusiasm in a race that continues to grow every year: tomorrow’s medicine and the hopes of many people depend on today’s research.
At Garnica, we believe we are a people-centred company committed to good health. As part of our ‘Garnica Health’ programme we implement different initiatives to promote healthy lifestyles among our workers. That is why we want to keep motivating our workers to participate in this fine activity, which also enables us to support cancer research every year.
