Garnica continues to promote sport by supporting the Rioja Deporte Foundation

Garnica is committed to the social and economic development of the regions in which we operate. For this reason, we have renewed our partnership with the Rioja Deporte Foundation for the third year in a row. This public institution of the Rioja Government was created in 2004 with the goal of promoting the development of sport in the region.

The Foundation, through the Rioja Sports Promotion Plan, has different sports training programmes, awards grants to high-performance athletes, promotes and encourages school games, advises and provides financial support to sports clubs and federations, organises events, runs health check campaigns for athletes and, in short, promotes sport in the Rioja region.

Furthermore, in 2022 the Foundation arranged visits to the Palacio de los Deportes arena for Riojan schoolchildren, held a conference on Integrity and Safety in Sport in partnership with LaLiga, and organised the customary Rioja Sports Gala, which we attended. We are repeating all these activities this year, since part of our agreement with the Foundation includes continued support for athletes, clubs and federations with sporting advice, and we are still running a programme to support social initiatives in sport for minors at risk of social exclusion or the differently abled.

Therefore, with this partnership we hope not only to boost the development of La Rioja, where our head office and three of our production centres are located, but also to help foster healthy habits through sport, both inside and outside our organisation.
