The PEFC label certifies that our products come from reliable and sustainable sources, consolidating Garnica’s position as a leading player in the responsible production of plywood.

Recognised as a global leader in the plywood industry, at Garnica, we have pursued this path to excellence since our founding in 1941, in La Rioja, Spain. Our company stands out for its unique production model built on sustainability and innovation, making it a benchmark player in the smart management of natural resources and the production of exceptional solutions. We are strategically located in the main poplar farm basins in Europe and currently operate at six production sites, five of which are in Spain.

Our mission is based on sourcing wood from tree farms, comprised of poplar, pine, and eucalyptus. This combination of farm-sourced wood and PEFC certification guarantees the quality of our products and reflects our commitment to protecting woodlands. Backed by the PEFC label, we can assure our clients that the choices they make help to preserve forest resources and maintain a balanced ecosystem.

Throughout our history, we have demonstrated a firm commitment to sustainability. Since receiving our PEFC chain of custody certification in 2004, we have remained dedicated to respecting woodlands and using resources responsibly. Over the past two decades, PEFC certification has played an essential role in our growth and has featured in around half of our sales. For sixteen years, from 2005 to 2021, we were also responsible for administering PEFC forest management certification for our poplar trees, and while we now outsource this function, we still actively advocate for sustainable forest management throughout our supply chain.

We are proud of our objective to promote renewable forest products, and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) has been a key tool in our efforts to drive sustainable forest management and ensure the responsible sourcing of our products. We have established a clear link between the raw material and end product through the Chain of Custody Certification at all our facilities, providing a guarantee of the traceability and sustainability of our products.

This enables us to produce plywood of exceptional quality and we have incorporated sustainability into all aspects of our business. We are committed to improving quality, the environment, and health and safety at work every day. From fulfilling our legal requirements to seeking safe working conditions and promoting responsible forest management, we strive to be a sustainable model and make a positive contribution to society.

In a world where sustainability and innovation are increasingly relevant, we want to continue to stand out as a global leader that not only makes exceptional products but also leads the way in the plywood industry to a more responsible and sustainable future.
