Garnica is once again supporting the Ukrainian people with a new corporate donation through UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. UNHCR staff are on the ground in Ukraine and have been committed to providing humanitarian aid to people in need since 1994.
At the beginning of the conflict, in March 2022, Garnica wanted to show solidarity with those affected and made a first corporate donation through UNICEF Spain. The war in Ukraine has caused one of the biggest human displacement crises in the world today and, unfortunately, the conflict is still ongoing and it is essential that the necessary aid is provided to the almost 8 million Ukrainian refugees who have been forced to flee their country. It is up to us to support them so that they can recover from the trauma and begin to rebuild their lives through medical care, protection services and psychosocial support.
At Garnica we have a strong commitment to society and we are involved with numerous initiatives in different areas. Last year, we also supported the COVAX initiative to help bring COVID-19 vaccines and treatments to the most vulnerable population groups in low-income countries. In addition, we continue to work on the development and improvement of Compliance and ESG policies to meet the 2030 UN SDG deadline. For this reason, Garnica has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact, a global alliance of companies and organisations, with the aim of implementing these universal sustainability principles.
