At Garnica, we are again supporting the Ukrainian people with a new corporate donation through UNHCR, the UN Refugees Agency. UNHCR staff are on the ground in Ukraine and, since 1994, have been committed to providing humanitarian aid to those in need.
When the conflict started in March 2022, Garnica wanted to show solidarity with those affected and made an initial corporate donation through UNICEF Spain. The war in Ukraine has caused one of the most significant human displacement crises in the world today, and the conflict sadly continues. It is, therefore, essential that the necessary aid be provided to the almost eight million Ukrainian refugees forced to flee their country. It is in our power to help them recover from the trauma and start rebuilding their lives by providing them with medical care, protection services, and psychosocial support.
At Garnica, we have made a resolute commitment to society and are undertaking numerous initiatives in several areas. Last year, for example, we also supported the COVAX initiative, helping the most vulnerable populations from low-income countries access COVID-19 vaccines and treatments. Moreover, we continue to work on developing and improving Compliance and ESG policies to meet the UN’s 2030 SDG target date. This is why Garnica has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact, a global alliance of companies and organizations aiming to achieve these universal sustainability principles.
