Once again Garnica had a presence at this year’s Concéntrico International Festival of Architecture and Design, held from 27 April to 2 May, when Logroño was flooded with arts and culture with a variety of artistic installations. Since the first edition of Concéntrico our panels have played a starring role. This year Garnica donated around 550 panels for the participating architects and designers to use to create their artistic installations.
This action is part of our commitment to contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of the areas where we operate and to help create more sustainable living spaces. Indeed, as part of our commitment to sustainability, the panels donated were based on poplar, pine and eucalyptus, species grown in local tree farms that benefit the environment and rural development.
Since 2015, Concéntrico has created more than 100 urban installations in total. This latest edition of the festival spread into new parts of the city, extending the spaces in which the different creations could be found: from the Plaza sin Nombre in the Madre de Dios district to El Cubo; from the north to the south; and from the River Ebro to the new railway station park.
As regards the urban installations, the capital of La Rioja was inundated by art, with the work of nationally and internationally renowned artists such as Camille Walala, Hollmén Reuter Sandman Architects, Os Espacialistas, Studio Ossidiana, Pool is Cool + Dallas, architecture uncomfortable workshop, Marc Morro, Paloma Cañizares, meii estudio + Clara Torregrosa, Gabriel Millán, Jennyfher Alvarado + Alvaro Gonzalez, Daniel Hambly, Frantoio sociale + Hypereden, Catalystas Collective, Vanesa Peña + Carlos Herraiz and the Escuela Superior de Diseño de La Rioja (La Rioja School of Design).
In this way, Garnica has played its part in making the capital of La Rioja a place for the arts to meet.
