At our Samazan factory we are continuing to invest in safety and the environment
Read the featured articleAt Garnica, our aim for 2023 is to have all our timber skidders and loaders at the Samazan factory running on biodegradable lubricants.
In 2022, at Garnica’s Samazan factory, in the Aquitaine region of France, we received our first VOLVO loader, which runs on biodegradeable lubricants. Lubricants of this type are more environmentally friendly and easily break down in soil and water without any risk of contamination or toxicity to human beings or animal life in any environment. The timber skidder at Samazan also uses biodegradable oil.
The advantages of this type of lubricant include: high viscosity index, lower amounts of product lost to evaporation, high fire point, high levels of biodegradability and low to non-existent toxicity. These days, biodegradable lubricants are essential to any kind of industry. After all, one litre of oil can pollute up to 1000 litres of water.
Safety at Garnica
Last year at Garnica, we also received our first loader with built-in BLAXTAIR system, a ground-breaking solution in safety for those who are around machines.
The BLAXTAIR system is equipped with artificial intelligence and is capable of distinguishing people from other obstacles in real time. It activates an alarm to warn the driver via a screen and, if ignored, will even stop the machine directly in order to avoid an accident.
The French factory boasts a total of five loaders, four of which already feature the BLAXTAIR system and BIO oils. Our commitment is, by early 2023, to have this innovative safety system installed in our loaders at the Samazan factory in France and to have them running on biodegradable lubricants that help to protect the environment.
