The 6th Women’s Race brings together over 8,000 runners with the distinguished participation of Garnica

The race was organized by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) of La Rioja and was also held virtually this year due to the health situation. Despite the special circumstances, the “pink tide” featured over 8,000 participants, who ran their individual races over several days through the streets of Logroño.

This was not a competitive race, but several awards were presented at a private event held at the City Hall of Logroño. Like last year, Garnica was recognized as the company with the most participants in the race.

Garnica has collaborated in this event since its first edition, and starting last year, we promoted and encouraged the participation of our professionals by covering the costs of the race bib and sending out internal communication campaigns. Our team’s response has been enthusiastic and 70 employees have made Garnica the company with the most representatives.

In addition, the company carries out other initiatives within the Garnica Health project to promote healthy life habits among the members of the organization and includes several initiatives to promote exercise, good nutrition, and adequate use of time for resting and disconnecting from work.

Within the framework of social responsibility and support for the community, Garnica maintains an agreement with the University of La Rioja to fund scholarships each year to support the region’s university talent. Another activity within this initiative was the company’s campaign in the midst of the pandemic to provide material to hospitals, healthcare facilities, and nursing homes.
