Garnica plays a pivotal role in the BASAJAUN project, funded by the European Commission, which aims to promote sustainable wood construction to drive rural development and urban transformation.

At Garnica, we are always looking towards the future. We are essentially defined by our constant commitment to innovation and sustainability. This passion has led us to become active participants in the exciting BASAJAUN Project, supported by the European Commission. The purpose of this project is to bring together companies, organizations, and public institutions to promote wood construction as synonymous with innovation and sustainability.

We are currently engaged in a crucial phase of the project: the construction of a demo building in France. Here, we have taken a significant step by installing acoustic panels that separate living units. These panels have exceeded all our expectations, outperforming the digital simulation and acoustic tests conducted by Tecnalia. This is a tangible testament to our commitment to excellence and quality at every step we take.

Furthermore, we are also playing an essential role by participating at the stand presented by the BASAJAUN consortium at the WoodRise international congress, taking place in Bordeaux from October 17 to 20. The stand (Hall 2 - Way E - Bay 03 - Stall 0306) will showcase innovation, featuring panels made with our product currently under development, “G-Brick Eco,” and some of the furniture crafted from 30 mm Duraply panels.

Within our new line of structural products, “G-Brick Eco” stands out as an example of sustainability. Instead of conventional XPS foam, it uses wood fiber insulation. This not only promotes sustainability by using local wood, but also provides a high level of comfort and reduces the environmental impact, paving the way for a circular economy.

The BASAJAUN Project has a clear mission: to maximize the value of Europe’s forests, which cover 43% of the European Union’s total land area. This not only benefits rural communities but also drives the digitization of the entire value chain, from the forest to the final building.

Join us at the WoodRise congress, where you can experience firsthand the advances and innovations that Garnica is bringing to the BASAJAUN Project. Together, we are building a more sustainable and eco-friendly future in the wood construction industry.
