Garnica promotes sustainability by adopting renewable solar power

At Garnica, we have taken an important step toward a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future by investing in renewable energy. At our Baños de Río Tobía 2 production plant, we have launched a photovoltaic installation with a peak capacity of 420 kW.
The primary aim of this photovoltaic plant in La Rioja is to supply our plant with electricity, which will enable us to reduce our electricity demand from the conventional network by approximately 14% per year, which prevents the equivalent of 425.9 tons of CO2 from being emitted annually. At the company, we are excited about the positive impact this initiative will have on reducing our carbon footprint and preserving the environment.
Moreover, this facility offers improved energy efficiency by producing our own electricity on site. By avoiding the losses associated with transporting energy through the network, we optimize consumption and reduce costs.
This initiative is possible thanks to the support of a NextGeneration grant from the European Union. We were selected as part of this incentive program that promotes renewable energy storage and self-supply, in addition to implementing sustainable heating systems in the residential sector. We are deeply grateful for this opportunity and feel proud to contribute to the Recovery, Transformation, and Resilience Plan funded by the European Union through NextGenerationEU.
